SevenFriday was founded in 2012 by Daniel Niederer. The name SevenFriday comes from a Latin aphorism, Carpe Diem, which can be translasted as “seize the day”. The shape of the cases is called “round-squared” or “squared-round” and was inspired by the look of the TV’s from the 60s. Although the concept and the design of the watches are made in Switzerland, movements come from Japan and they are assembled in Hong-Kong. SevenFriday has two main types of watches, the P models and the M models. The most famous models are the P models like the P1-1, P2-1, P3-1 or P3-2. All of the watches feature a Japanese Miyota automatic movement. Watches from the P collection are roughly 47mm wide and they look like vintage television screens. The design of the dials is unusual, intentionally a bit weird since the hour hand is a bit hidden under the minute hand, but immediately recognizable.
