MONTBLANC

Montblanc was founded by Alfred Nehemias (a Hamburg merchant) and August Eberstein (a Berlin engineer) in 1906. The two of them wanted to create a tool that would revolutionize the art of handwriting. In 1996 the brand introduced the famous “Meisterstuck Jewellery Collection” and one year later, the brand launched the “Montblanc Montre S.A” in Le Locle, Switzerland. In 1997 the brand unveiled the Meisterstuck watch.At first Montblanc used ETA movements but then had to switch to Sellita movements as their supplier for lower-priced watches. In 2008 the brand launched the manual winding MB R100 chronograph calibre at SIHH. This movement was Montblanc’s first in-house calibre before the creation of the MB R200 which was an automatic version of the same movement. In 2011 Montblanc created the Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique which was the first tourbillon with two cylindrical balance springs.
