Daniel JeanRichard was born in 1665 in Les Bressels, in Switzerland. Often considered as the founder of watchmaking in this region, he was famous for being a gifted watchmaker. He learnt watchmaking in Geneva and then moved to Le Locle where he taught his sons the art of watchmaking. Jean Richard died in 1741 and the brand was taken over by Luigi Macaluso in 1988. In 2002 the name of the brand became JEANRICHARD instead of Daniel JeanRichard.
In 2004 the brand released their first in-house movement, the JR1000. One year later, in 2005, the brand paid tribute to Daniel JeanRichard 340 years after his birth with a new case, the Bressel 1665. JEANRICHARD started working with the famous motorbike manufacturer MV Agusta in 2007 and presented the Sport Diverscope and Chronoscope in injected rubber in 2008. In 2009 the brand presented the Tourbillon Paramount with linear power reserve and a partnership with the legend Giacomo Agostini.
