HERMES

Founded in Paris in 1837, Hermès created at first saddles and harnesses for horses. During the early 20th century, the brand decided to extend its leather expertise to accessories which included watch straps. In 1975 Hermès introduced the “clasp” watch Kelly in homage to Princess Grace’s handbag. Then, in 1978, the brand established La Montre Hermès SA in Switzerland. La Montre Hermès produced elegant watches for women and it soon became an important manufacture for the brand as it also organized the international distribution worldwide. The brand introduced the Arceau model the very same year. In 1981 Hermès unveiled the launch of Clipper which evoked the open seas and a few years later, in 1991, the brand revealed the famous Cape Cod watch. Only in 1998 did the very famous double wrap-around strap arrive in stores. In 1993, the brand announced the Medor watch which paid tribute to dog collars and in 1997 the H-Hour was also released by the brand. The Hermès Slim, a classic and elegant watch presented in 2015, received an Enamel dial in 2016, as a tribute to the art of Grand Feu enamelling.
