ALPINA

Alpina is a swiss watch brand founded in 1883 by Gottlieb Hauser. Alpina’s story is highly linked to sport watches, especially after the release of the “Alpina 4” collection in 1938. This collection relied on 4 main features which are: antimagnetic, antishock, water-resistant and stainless steel. It was definitely an avant-garde vision since watches still tend to meet those 4 criteria nowadays. The company has always produced mechanical watches and it almost went bankrupt because of this decision (especially when the quartz movement arrived). In 2002, the brand reinvented itself and Alpina presented 4 new in-house movements. In 2014 (76 years after the Alpina 4 collection), Alpina introduced a new collection which still featured the same characteristics (antimagnetic, antishock, water-resistant and stainless steel). More recently, in 2015, Alpina launched its first swiss made connected watch featuring analogical time.
