Chronograph watches can measure and display elapsed time. Usually three subcounters on the dial display the elapsed seconds, minutes and hours.
A watch featuring an annual calendar displays the day of the week, the date and the month but not the bisextile years. The watch needs to be adjusted once a year.
The night and day indicator is an aesthetic complication which displays on the dial the movement of the sun and the moon. This complication must not be confused with the moonphase.
The power reserve indicator tells you the time the watch will continue to function. It can either be seen on hand winding or automatic watches.
The Flyblack function means that the chronograph hand can be reset to zero and immediately started again by pressing once the pusher. That’s why there are two hands for the chronograph.
