Pequignet was founded in France by Emile Pequignet in 1973. Emile Pequignet was a huge fan of horses so the brand was associated with the world of horseriding. The brand unveiled an “Equitation” collection of wristwatches whose dials displayed horses’ heads on a coin. Emile Pequignet was also found of exotic countries which led to the creation of three different exotic collections: the MOOREA, the SAKKARA and the MASSAI. In 2006 the brand wanted to enter the world of fine watchmaking. In 2010 the brand installed its manufacture workshops and created its first in-house movement: the Calibre Royal. In 2012 the brand faced huge financial difficulties so Pequignet was purchased by two private investors. The brand has now two separated collection, the Manufacture collection and the regular one.
