ORIS

Oris was founded in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian. The brand was so quickly successful that in 1911 they already have more than 300 employees. In 1925 the brand launched their first wristwatch, a few years before the release of the famous Oris Big Crown in 1938. The Big Crown had a distinctive oversized crown so that pilots could adjust their watch while wearing gloves. The Big Crown also feature a unique Pointer Calendar function thanks to a center hand with an arrow pointing to the date. In 1952 Oris unveiled their first automatic movement, the Caliber 601. During the 1960’s Oris was one of the ten largest watch companies in the world with more than 800 employees. In 1999 the brand revealed the BC3 collection for pilots which marked the beginning of a new era for the Oris. In 2001 the company launched the TT1 collection which paid tribute to Formula 1. Oris introduced its first in-house movement in 2014, the caliber 110. This hand-wound movement featured a ten-day power reserve and o non-linear power reserve indicator. More recently, the band has decided to focus on a vintage atmosphere and had released smaller divers and new Big Crown timepieces. In 2019 Oris introduced the Big Crown ProPilot X in titanium with a skeleton dial and a new 115 calibre.
