MATWATCHES

MAT stands for “Mer-Air-Terre” which means “Sea-Air-Land” in French. The first watches were made for police officers belonging to the RAID, the French police enforcement unit. These watches were called AG1-RAID. These watches had to meet the needs of special forces. MAT watches was founded in 2007 and their workshop was established in Paris. Today the brand keeps on focusing on reliable and robust timepieces for specialist units and Special Forces. For the 30th birthday of RAID, the brand launched a limited edition chronograph (150 watches), each with its own sequential number. In 2013 the brand also worked with the French Foreign Legion to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Camarón. In 2015 the brand designed an automatic watch for the pilots of the US Naval Force with a second time zone.
